WINTER FASHION 2020

By now, you probably have followed my Instagram and know that I can never get enough neutrals. My style tends to be more modest than exposed and I tend to gravitate towards styles that accentuate the entire body rather than drive attention to one color or pattern. I live by the words elegant, classy, and chic.
I wanted to create this for a while, but hadn't gone out shopping or researching on trends much this year. After several zoom meetings, watching and consuming a lot of information, and shopping online, I finally wanted to share some winter fashion must haves I have been loving! I think these would truly elevate your next winter look.

Inspiration pictures compiled from Instagram.
Sweaters:

You really can't go wrong with turtlenecks. Koreans have been layering turtlenecks with jackets for years now, and you probably don't know a single French or British person who doesn't own a black turtleneck. My must colors this years for oversized AND fitted turtlenecks are beige, black, white, and grey. Use these interchangeably with multiple different jackets and pants and you already look chic, effortless, and professional.

I think this is a style that just recently started becoming more of a trend. Polos are so well known, but combining the sweater with a collared neckline gives a casual yet wholesome look to an everyday wear sweater. Look for sweaters that are minimal but give a certain edge with their design.

More and more stores like Zara, H&M, Banana Republic and more are including puffed sweaters into their collections. Where you used to find only a few options of these, now they come in several colors and designs readily available at multiple stores. The square neck line has established itself to be a prominent seller this season.
Long sleeves:

I saw one of my classmates from London wear a v-neck white collared blouse, and I thought it was absolutely stunning. You may find that although one shirt is the same, the way it is worn or designed is detailed to fit the culture such as UK vs. Russia, Korea vs. China, France vs. Scotland. Personally, I think wearing a simple shirt but with a slight detail such as ruffles on the sleeves or collar really give a more sophisticated edge to your look.
Pants:

I'm all for black, beige, and checkered straight legged pants. However, something that I think is a necessity for the colder months is a dark washed or charcoal straight legged denim. Where we used to wear light colored denim in the summer, we're now shifting to darker colors for the winter.
Pairing a turtle neck with any of these pants seem to match perfectly. Although a lot of people still prefer to wear leggings or skinny jeans, I really like the way straight or mom jeans give you a more approachable look!
This is just a short look book for your next shopping spree, but comment if you have any suggestions on what you bought or will buy this winter season!
I see why you got a sweater recently ;)
